Willie Nelson is one of the most successful country music singer-songwriters in history, releasing 68 studio albums and 10 live albums. He wrote his first song at the age of seven and joined his first band at ten, playing concerts as a lead singer and guitar player while still in high school. He spent the ā50s and ā60s writing songs for established acts such as Ray Price and Patsy Cline, as well as releasing a string of albums on Liberty and RCA beginning with his debut ā¦And Then I Wrote in 1962. In 1973, he signed to Atlantic Records and put out Shotgun Willie, which veered into outlaw country, a stark contrast from the mainstream Nashville sound and clean-cut country artists of the era. 1975ās Red Headed Stranger and 1978ās Stardust followed on Columbia Records, both garnering commercial and critical success. The ā80s saw the release of No. 1 albums Honeysuckle Rose, Somewhere Over The Rainbow, Always on My Mind, and The Promiseland, as well as Nelson joining Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, and Kris Kristofferson in the country supergroup The Highwaymen, touring and releasing three studio albums between 1985 and 1995. Nelson continues to release a new album almost every year and delight ticket buyers in live shows to this day.
Love the Pinewood Bowl venue - and LOVE THE LIVING LEGEND, ONE AND ONLY, WILLIE NELSON!
Awesome at any age! Amazing at 91! He puts on a great show! And his opening band rocks!
Willie's performance was amazing considering his age. Once in a lifetime experience.
Willie was great but a 1 hour concert was way too short. He still sounds great and his guitar playing was amazing!
The concert was great, very enjoyable, and the actual Pinewood Bowl is a great place to listen to a musical performance. At 91 Willie still puts on a good show! However, the Pinewood Bowl is located in a city park that only has two entrances/exits. If you attend a show there plan on slow motor vehicle travel for entering and exiting.
Totally enjoyed the show . The opening acts were great. Drew Holcomb and the Neighbors were super,
It is Willy Nelson..... nothing more to say. Other than that the venue was amazing š¤©
Started off thinking this is terrible then it turned out to be ok.
I didnāt expect Willie to sing well, he is 91. But his guitar playing, lack of making any kind of connection with the audience, and only an hour long performance was highly disappointing. If he canāt put on a better show than that he should not be touring. Thanks for all the music you have made over the year, Willie, but itās time for you to step down.
Willie never disappoints - he has been my hero forever and Iām so glad the weather cooperated and he could sing his heart out! The Drew Holcomb band was great as well
